The Empress Character Design
My last design for the Arcana Nacht project and the design that probably got the most positive feedback. She’s intended to also a wield a crossbow, but you’ve only got so many hands to work with. Originally she had a darker palette but it reminded me too much of snow white so I chose this lighter one instead. She also is intented to be not super pale, because I decided to go with the powdered wig, painted mole and super red cheeks.. she had to resist against at least one beauty trend.
The Devil Character Design
The Devil was pretty fun. We originally thought he would be the main antagonist but that was too obvious and had no foundation in tarot. So if you play as The Fool you think the Devil is the main bad guy for a decent amount of the game. If you play as Death.. well you’re already aware you’re just using Devil to attract the attention. Devil himself is just a power and pleasure seeking being who in his denial of being used by Death uses the oddly loyal Moon.
Death or “The Nameless Arcanum” Character Design
Intended to be an androgynous, shadowy character. Not quite evil, because that’s not the way the story works but the setup of the “antagonist” for our assignment’s purpose. In our imagining of it as an actual game you would be able to start as the Fool (who I didn’t do a design for) or Death because they are opposites.
The Moon character design. The first design I really got into. I had planned to go back into the drawing but I didn’t have time. Story of this project! I’m personally a fan of the way her swords turned out.
The World npc design. A bit rushed with just about 2 hours of work put into it.
PS The misspelling of Arcanum is not my fault, nor can I change it. I was not the one who made the template and my group member who did gave us flattened images. I did however make the logo in the background.

I wanted to do a really ridiculous dress for her at first but as I drew the wide ones I was feeling it less and less. I also really wanted her to have a thing for crossbows. The design I’m going on is the one kind of in the middle, where she’s holding the scepter and fan. I’ve been told her hair needs to be bigger though.
Marker drawing for The Nameless/ Death. They’re intended to be kind of gender neutral but I feel like most people will read them as male. Oh well. The three designs on the right are my favorite but I’m mostly feelin the one on the top.
My marker drawings for The Devil. I’m thinking about the last one on the top row for his normal form and the second to last one on the bottom for his “boss mode” form. That is here the eye covered hand comes in.. which my group thought was a little too disturbing but.. oh well, I love it.

My favorite is def the Goddess of Assassins. I could see myself drawing her again. Time is pretty cute too tho.
The beginning stages of the development of one of the character designs I will be doing for my video game design project. The game is based from Tarot (and the style of dress based on rococo/1700s) and this character will represent The Moon. She’s the loyal sidekick of The Devil but was once a devoted apprentice of The Magician/High Priestess. We’re giving them names eventually but while working just referring to them as the card names.
I considered making her a drow and my group was pushing for the moon to be a cat. So I’m considering some vague cat like elements. She’s also supposed to be a spy type character so I was trying to keep her clothing realistic to sneak about in.

Paprika piece I did for “versus” assignment, my partner is doing Inception. I listened to the parade theme many times while working on this and was a bit inspired by Zhou Fan.
